Invitation To TRI Studios Webcast & Charity Info For Proceeds

Greetings Stoopidheads!

We wanted to take this time to cordially invite you to a very exciting event - our live real-time web performance broadcast from within the walls of Grateful Dead/Furthur guitarist and founder Bob Weir's TRI Studios on Sept 13, 2011

The in-studio performance will feature a live fan to band Q&A session between 2 sets of music, something we've never done before and we are excited to utilize this new technology in doing so. All of this can be dialed in for optimum sound and video straight from your computer to your stereo and HD television for maximum viewing pleasure!  Live Twitter and Facebook feeds will accompany the broadcast so you all can tune in, ask us questions and see what everyone is saying in real time!

We have also aligned with the following charities, and will donate all net proceeds to the following organizations:

Save The Children - http://www.savethechildren.org

Saves lives with food, medical care, and education

 World Food Programme - http://www.wfp.org
World's largest humanitarian organization fighting hunger

Bob Weir's TRI Studio is equipped with the latest webcast technology and Meyer Sound System, and was built for the purpose of real time webcasts of intimate studio performances and fan forums as a new model being tested in creative circles within the rock n' roll pantheon, and we are very excited to be one of the first bands to do something like this...live from the studio.

We encourage you to turn on, tune in, and experience this!  Please invite your friends over, have a beer, a smoke, kick back and participate in this experiment we are stoked to provide our amazing fans with.

The broadcast fee is only $10 and all net profits will be split amongst the charities.  From a pricing standpoint, please realize, we have aimed to keep this as inexpensive as possible and to still try and raise money and awareness for these charitable groups previously referenced. We are shooting to get a minimum of 5,000 viewers to start to generate money for the charities.  The technology to deliver something of this nature does have costs associated with it, and we say this so that our fans recognize the event is not a profit driven scheme to make money, but for Slightly Stoopid and its viral fanbase to bring music, technology, creativity, and goodwill to those less fortunate than us!

Help us make a difference.....we are more than "grateful" to be able to do this for a living and will continuously strive to provide the most cutting edge musical experiences for our fans to enjoy  at the same time while helping others......

We are excited to have sitting in with us on this special event none other than Karl Denson (Greyboy Allstars/Tiny Universe), Don Carlos (Black Uhuru), Ian Neville (Dumpstaphunk/Funky Meters), and Bob Weir (Grateful Dead/Furthur) and to broadcast it live to Stoopidheads around the world.

Please dont forget to tune in on SEPT 13
6pm (live webcast) or 9pm (replay webcast) Pacific Daylight Time

Rock The Vote Interviews Miles

Slightly Stoopid

Slightly Stoopid

Tell us about your first concert experience:
miles: the first concert i ever went to was Stevie Wonder. My Mom and her friend got us backstage somehow to meet Stevie and the boys. i was just a kid and Stevie seemed larger than life to me.......to this day, one of the best concerts i have ever seen.

If you couldn’t be a musician, what would you be doing instead?
miles: honestly i have been a musician for so long, and we have been a band since we were in high school, i have a really hard time knowing or even imagining what i might be doing if it was not writing and performing. if i had to guess though i probably would still be involved in the music business. if it wasn’t writing or performing i would still be drawn to working with musicians. as a kid, my father really instilled in me a sense of pride in what you do. so, regardless of music business or bartending or digging ditches, whatever my job is, i want to be proud of the job i have done and will do that job 110%.

If you could collaborate with one artist, living or dead, who would it be and why?
miles - well....my first instinct is to say Jimi Hendrix. his buttery fingers and soul this world has never seen the like of. however....i would really love to jam with Motley Crue...they are hands down the greatest rock / hair metal bands of all time.

If you became President, what is the first action you would take?
miles: i would walk in the day i got inaugurated and fire everyone. the "ruling class" in this country is so far removed from what real life is like that it is a joke to think they can try and tell any of us anything about the way life is or should be. this country should take care of their own. period point blank. so once everyone was fired and we had real people running the country my first course of action would be to give every American access to health care and a college education regardless of any qualification other than being American.

What social cause is closest to your heart?
miles: being a father of 2 daughters, education for our children is something i hold very close to my heart. and when i look at the direction of public and private education in this country i have some concerns to say the least.

What does the right to vote mean to you?
miles: -...that is a difficult question for me..i hold the right to vote and the privilege to participate in our democracy extremely close to my heart. i recognize the sacrifice that was made for us to live in the best country in the world with the most open and free democratic society humankind has ever known. That being said, i think the actual voting process needs some help...

What bands or artists did you listen to when you were in high school? And which bands or artists influenced your style the most?
miles: so many different bands...from Bob Marley to Sublime to Zeppelin to Motley Crue....i could go on for days. we are influenced by so many different styles its hard to pinpoint any specific bands or genres that specifically are the inspiration for slightly stoopid. we like to think of ourselves as a melting pot of madness.

What activity or group were you involved with in high school that might surprise people today?
miles: i was on our high school wrestling team. i actually wrestled for quite a few years before high school and my dad was our wrestling coach all through high school as well. now, on our off time, i am the wrestling coach at the high school i went to along with one of my best friends. so its kind of come full circle.

What's the biggest obstacle that you had to overcome in high school?
miles: maintaining my grades while trying to juggle music and wrestling.

Do you do any volunteer or community work when you're not on tour?
miles: yes, i coach local kids in my community on our time off.

What change would you like to see in our society in the next year?
miles: - we need a little more compassion for human beings everywhere. seems as if that's always the thing our society leaves to the wayside. maybe some more compassion for those that are less fortunate, maybe some reflection on how we are all here on this rock looking for the same thing so we should all just chill out a little and stop hurting each other. That’s a tall order for one year though...

Interview: Slightly Stoopid « The Pier Magazine @ Red Rocks

Located in Morrison, Colorado is one of, if not the most beautiful venue in the world, Red Rocks. On August 6th, 2011 The Pier was invited back stage before Slightly Stoopid was set to play to a near sold out show on their Seedless Summer Tour. It has been a while since we have had the chance to interview Stoopid’s drummer RyMo and we made sure to ask the questions the fans want to hear. Such questions cover a possible Acoustic Roots 2 album, when we can expect the next E.P and their take on Sublime with Rome. Enjoy!
